Schulstad Denmark dates back to 1880 and has since worked on improving the Danish consumer bread culture with emphasis on traditional bakery craft. From 3 bakeries and distribution centres, more than 800 employees daily produce and distribute to 2,700 retail customers planned on 110 routes and handled on 80 trucks.
Niels Holm, Logistics Director at Schulstad Denmark, “Our distribution is special in the sense that most of it is carried out during the night when our customers are not present at location. Therefore, we were in need of a solution to document proof of delivery. We have narrow customer time windows and we must be able to document that we comply with them.”
“In order to perform excellent customer service, it is our business model to provide our customers with the visiting patterns they wish. Down the line, we want to expand the solution with notifications automatically issued to the customer in case of delays or changes, as our distribution is dependent on e.g. traffic conditions.”
The mobile solution from AMCS makes it possible for Schulstad to perform better customer service. Niels holm explains, “In addition to having detailed route lists sent to the smartphone, our drivers have access to pictures and descriptions of where to place the goods. This is a huge advantage to us and our customers when it comes to replacements and substitutes.”
With AMCS’ mobile solution it is possible for Schulstad’s drivers to register the exact amount of delivered goods and register how many empty pallet and boxes are returned.
